Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Photo: Weak cornices 100' east of noted lat/long where snowpit was dug. Intentional collapse of cornices propagated up to 20'. Failure of soft slab below cornice only fracture propagated around 3' beyond the end of the falling cornice pieces. This slope avalanched on Feb 24 down to the Feb 19 layer.

Snowpit was dug in area where the Feb 19-24 snowfall remained in place. Feb 19 layer interface stable at this location. No other significant evidence of instability was observed while on tour between 6,000' to 8,000' on N-NE-E-SE aspects near treeline and below treeline.
