Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:
Trace of new snow overnight.  Some wind effect on the surface snow from the NE winds last night mainly above 8000' but did not seem widespread.  Good unconsolidated snow on N-E aspects, sluffing occuring within the top 3-4'' of surface snow only on steeper terrain.  Dug several hand pits to look at the recent storm snow, the upper 12-20''.  No density change seen between layers that had heavier/denser snow over lighter/less dense snow and no layers that were reactive.  The upper snowpack/recent storm snow continues to gain strength and skied very well.  No signs of instability seen today with lots of skier traffic in this area over this weekend.
