More detailed information about the snowpack:

Several parts of Red Lake Peak below 8200 ft have melted out even on northerly aspects. The road no longer has continuous coverage. Above 8200 ft more snow exists on the northerly aspects. The snowpack in these areas is comprised of mostly weak facetted snow. Tests and observations show that the current snowpack can still support itself and a person recreating on top of the snow. The data also seems to indicate that the entire snowpack is getting weaker. In this area a few tests still indicated an unstable snowpack. These contradictory results show that the snowpack remains variable from place to place.
