Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

No evidence of instability observed in this area today. Near crust facets are still poorly developed, but represent an larger portion of the snowpack than seen in the last snowpit data collected here on Dec 31. Above 8,600' snow surface conditions consisted of 5 cm of dust on crust. Below 8,600' conditions quickly transitioned to supportable melt-freeze crust in a frozen state. All NW-N-NE aspects traveled in this area today were above 7,500' and remained frozen at 12:15pm.
