Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Minimal amount of blowing snow with the moderate to strong W winds late morning into the mid afternoon with limited amounts of snow available for transport.  In most exposed terrain the snow surface was scoured down to the previous rain crust.  On northerly shaded aspects this rain crust from 8600-9500' was deteriorating and not ski supportive and breakable in most areas.  In protected treed areas there was 4-6'' of unconsolidated snow on top of the existing rain crust.  Snow coverage is thin below 8500'.

Photo#1:  Scoured snow surface in exposed terrain, 9500'-SW aspect.

Photo#2:  Minor wind transport on higher ridges and peaks.

Photo#3:  9200', North aspect.  4'' of unconsolidated snow on top of the existing rain crust.  The rain crust was starting to facet and deteriorate and small facets, .5mm, were found below the rain crust.
