Tahoe Mountain School Level 1 Avalanche Course:

There was 20 to 30cm of new snow along the ridge.   The crust just below the new snow was 1 to 2 cms thick in the open areas with south and west aspects and easy to feel while skinning.  The east and north aspects had 30 to 50 cms of new snow with a very thin crust below the new snow or no crust at all.   The winds were lighter than expected and we encountered no wind slabs.
