Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

At the trail head at 12:00 the average snow depth was 55cm with a wet snow surface.  Boot pen 20cm.  There was 25 cm of settlement since last Sunday.  On our tour up the NE aspect there was a lot of evidence of E wind.  Sastrugi and wind sculped snow.  In the trees the snow surface was wet with cold dry snow underneath.  In some open exposed areas there was scouring down to the old snow surface.  At the summit on NE aspect there are areas of bare exposed rock.  On the west side of the summit it is scoured down to the old snow surface with areas of firm wind pack.  We descended the NE aspect and found pockets of good winter snow mixed with areas of thin breakable crust.
