Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

brutal snow conditions on mt judah.  pit is just west of the radio towers on a sheltered nne facing slope.  5cm crust supports me on skis but breaks through in boots.  70cm total snow depth with old ice layer visible but consolidating at 35cm.  thin layers of soft sugary but small grained snow below surface crust, above ice layer, at ground surface.
