More detailed information about the snowpack:

Lots of wind effect today on areas exposed to the NE winds. In sheltered areas, there was 40-60cm of wonderful, low density snow. Instabilities in the areas we skied were isoloated to stiffer windslabs near the ridgelines. Although there were many large wind drifts and slabs lower down, most were not stiff enough to propigate a crack.

Photo #2- Small shooting crack durring a kick turn. (stiff windslab near ridgline)

More detailed information about the weather:

Cold, crisp day today, with a moderate NE wind. Winds appeared to be very strong on higher elevation ridglines, with lots of blowing snow observed. The cold temps kept the sun effect on the south facing slopes to a minimum as of 13:00 today.
