Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

By 11:00 in the trees at 7400' the surface MF crust had softened with a boot penetration of 25cm.  At the same elevation in open terrain without coverage of tress the surface of the MF crust had softened but was still supportable.  At 8000' winds were lighter than expected and there was 5cm to 10cm of corn snow on top of a softening 10cm to 15cm crust. On our descent around 2:00 from 8500' the snow was holding up very well.  10cm of corn on a soft but supportable crust.
