More detailed information about the snowpack:

As today's storm approached the winds increased across the crest. Strong W-SW winds caused lots of transporting to E-NE Slopes. This transporting was causing wind board and wind slabs to form. West facing slopes had variable snow textures on the surface from today's winds, wind effected, old raised ski tracks and some scoured sections that had even started to glaze over. Pit results show the Jan 5 and Jan 9  surface hoar layer still lingers below tree line and was reactive, moslty Q2 Resistent Planar results no sudden collapses.
