More detailed information about the snowpack:

Variable snow conditions similar to those in other areas around the region existed in the Becker Peak area. Exposed crusts existed on the exposed N and NE near and above treeline slopes. In sheltered areas a few inches of unconsolidated snow still remains on the N-NE aspects in below treeline terrain. Large rocks in this area remain near the surface and some are still exposed. The uppermost rain crust continues to erode and a weak layer continues to form below it in this area. Sun exposed S-SW aspects held a few inches of wet, soft snow on the surface by the afternoon.

Photo 1: Coverage in the N-NE bowl in Becker Peak. Note the many rocks in the area.

Photo 2: Coverage at midslope (7800 ft) on a NNE aspect. More rocks just below the surface.

Photo 3: Exposed ice on Echo Lake. Some areas of open water may still exist on the lake.
