More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Strong to gale force winds today were keeping the snow surface from softening too much even with the well above freezing temperatures overnight.  East aspects in this area have enough snow coverage to ski with some good spring corn snow out of the direct wind down to around 7600' where snow coverage gets thin.  The snowpack in this area is uniform and consolidated, mainly made up of rounded grains with a thick and strong melt freeze crust on the surface.  Northerly aspects did not soften by mid day as well as terrain that was in the direct wind.
