More detailed information about the snowpack:

A second visit to reassess the weak layer associated with the snowmobile triggered avalanche on Feb 8 revealed no ongoing signs of instability (N aspect, 45 degree slope, 9,360' elevation). Rounding faceted crystals F+ hard (avalanche failure layer) under the base of a 1F hard storm slab remained in this area. ECTN results within the slab and ECTX result on the avalanche's failure layer. PST scored PST 75/100 end @ 74cm on rounding faceted layer (avalanche failure layer) at the base of the new snow slab. Tests performed digging a few feet up slope through the climber's left end of the crown line visible in the photo. Initial post for this avalanche which includes a crown profile is at: http://www.sierraavalanchecenter.org/mon-02092015-0900-avalanche-relay-peak.
