Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

No evidence of instability observed while on tour in this area today. Formal snowpit tests and ski cuts in previously wind loaded areas yielded no signs of unstable wind slabs. Formal snowpit tests targeting near crust facet layers just below the recent storm snow yielded no signs of unstable persistent slabs. Breakable surface melt-freeze crust up to 1 to 4 cm thick existed on all aspects except true N aspects steeper than 25 degrees up to the high point of travel at 9,000'. Warming snow surface conditions were occurring, but no signs of wet snow instability were observed prior to departing the area at 1 pm.
