More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Pit: No weak layers observed. All layers undergoing wet metamorphism. In the area, some wind deposited, cold dry snow did exist at the surface in small pockets, with no wind slab observed.

Pic 1: Layering very easy to visualize in pit. Wetted basal facets may be of future concern.

Pic 2: Moderate ridgetop W winds failed to produce any visible wind transport on neighboring peaks and ridges.

Discontinuous snow below 7500ft on Maggie's NE aspect approach, with pretty bad skiing below Granite Lake. Lower elevation W Shore trailheads (Tallac, Angora, Echo, Flagpole) look challenging.
