More detailed information about the snowpack: 

No evidence of instability observed in this area today. Widespread supportable crust conditions exist from recent rain and melt-freeze. N aspect snowpit to ground at 7,740' revealed a well consolidated and well bonded snowpack. Descending from the ridge at noon, E aspects held 1 to 2 cm of surface wet snow over supportable crust.

Photo 1: Access along the FS 12 Rd at 6,700' to 7,000' is melting out in numerous areas.

Photo 2: Improving snowcover of 30 to 90 cm at 7,000'.

Photo 3: Widespread continuous snowcover of 90 to 100 cm on N-NE-E aspects at 7,700'.

Photo 4: Surface melt-freeze crust 6 cm thick, K hard from last night's snow surface refreeze despite overnight minimum air temps in the 40s F.
