More detailed information about the snowpack:

The snowpack in this area holds several layers of well faceted snow below the old/new snow interface on northerly aspects. Strong temperature gradients exist through the height of the recent storm snow. Current conditions and forecast air temperatures for the rest of this week will likely metamorphose the recent storm snow into another layer of near surface facets. The existing snowpack is weak, but lacking an overlying slab. This is similar to most other observed locations around the forecast area. Without an overlying slab, this weak snowpack has not shown any evidence of instability.
