More detailed information about the snowpack:

Ongoing blowing snow was observed near treeline and above treeline on Rubicon Peak and on surrounding peaks in the Jobs/Freel complex and Desolation Wilderness.

Near crust facets continue to develop and erode the rain crust formed out of the Dec 20-21 warming event. This weak layer is not problematic at this time, but is in monitoring stage.

Photo 1: Ongoing wind transport of snow, near treeline on Rubicon Peak, N aspect at ~8,900'.

Photos 2&3: Wind transport in near treeline terrain just SW of Crag Lake, as viewed from near the summit of Rubicon Peak.
