Variable surface conditions on Incline Lake Peak and Slab Cliffs

We toured around the Incline Lake Peak and Slab Cliff areas today and dug a couple of snowpits. Neither of our pits gave an indication of problematic weak layers. Our formal and informal observations from today combined with other recent observations from around this specific area indicate that the local existing snowpack is in decent condition to handle new snow loading. 

Snow surface conditions were variable. We encountered firm wind slab and firm wind scoured areas near treeline, melt freeze crust on solar aspects, and pockets of unconsolidated surface snow on the most wind protected N aspects below treeline.
