ECT on Rubicon

Toured Rubicon today. We saw almost no signs of wind effects on the snow surface until we were within 100 vertical feet of the summit transition spot. 2 quick ECT tests indicated some signs of instability, so we decided against summiting. ECTP7 7 inches down and ECTN5 on the same layer. Both slabs were very soft and did not break very cleanly across the column. Kicking above the skin track in this area showed limited cracking, never more 2 feet long.
