Observations from Spooner/Kingsbury

Slightly cooler day than expected riding from Spooner to Kingsbury today. Sunny slopes below 8000ft were getting wet on the surface, but all other slopes remained cold and dry. No signs of recent avalanches in the many large, steep E/NE facing avalanche paths in this area. Previously wind loaded slopes were not reactive to numerous slope cuts, and 2x ECTNs about 1/4 mile apart from each other on wind loaded slopes right below ridgeline (pin drop). 

Pic 1: Surface Hoar all the way to ridgetop, that remained intact until our departure at 3pm. This was only observed above 8000ft.

Pic 2: A mix of faceting graupel and small SH on the surface in other locations, also only observed above 8000ft.

I could not determine a distribution pattern between these two surface forms today.
