Wind transport and unreactive buried SH at Horse Meadow

Warm and windy day at Horse Meadow, though shaded slopes still held cold and unconsolidated snow. Sunny slopes had a wet surface, and tree bombs were falling, but no signs of wet instabilities were observed.

Pic 1: Buried SH was found down 35cm (where I'm pointing in this photo) but didn't produce a propagating ECT. The snow above it remained soft and not slab-like, and the SH itself was very small and not all standing up.

Pic 2: Blowing snow observed along ridge tops. Winds increased upon our departure at 2pm, and wind was moving snow along the surface even down low and in the trees.
