Wet snow and cold dry snow but no corn at upper elevations.

Touring the upper western portion of the Ginny Lake drainage this morning revealed the expected thin melt-freeze surface snow on top of dry snow that has yet to undergo melt. In the earlier parts of the morning, this was mostly supportable to breakable crust. By mid morning, this was wet snow over dry. Air temperatures at 9,600' in this area increased 7 degrees from 9 am to 11 am under rapid warming. A few D1 to D1.5 loose wet avalanches from yesterday were visible on S-SE aspects.

Shaded NNW-N-NNE aspects still held ankle deep unconsolidated snow down to the lowpoint of travel at 8,500'. Near and above treeline areas on N-NE aspects were wind scoured as expected with raised tracks, etc.
