Thompson Peak

Toured up Thompson Peak today. The snowpack was variable with mostly a breakable crust. However, there was some soft snow in the shade around trees; it made for some challenging skiing on the way down. The snow is soft but firming up under the 3cm crust at the surface. There are two distinct curst layers about 20cm down with a thin layer of facets in-between them. The ECTP24 at 71 (x2) was a Q2. The snow below the curst was moist.
