Wind affected snow and cornices near Meadow Lake

Rode from Little Truckee Summit to Meadow Lake. Snow coverage was minimal at the beginning, but at elevations above 7,000ft there was 2-4 feet of snow. The day began partially sunny and ended with light snowfall. Moderate southern winds blew all day. 

We observed signs of wind transport of snow on ridges and exposed southern terrain. We observed wind scoured ridge tops, sastrugi, and in some areas large cornices ~6ft tall. All the signs we observed appeared to be from southern winds. We avoided any steep north facing stopes. 
 

Snow on exposed sourthern terrain in the area often had a ~1 inch thick crust. 

We found some unconsolidated snow in sheltered, shaded areas.
