Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

We went to a north aspect of waterhouse peak to observe a test pit. We dug 5 pits at 8300' looking for the Jan. 4th persistent weak layer. Compression tests from 4 out of 5 pits showed similar results, we found RP results on the Jan. 4th rain crust @ 67cm up from the ground, and only one ECT test showed propragation. We witnessed extreme spacial variability in a very small area.
