Powderhouse Prestorm Pit

The weather forecast seemed accurate for today. The sky had FEW clouds and recorded temperatures around 41 degrees F which indicated rapid warming today. Even on the NE face the surface snow was wet where sun affected. Snow surfaces were variable and included breakable crusts,   There was a calm to light wind felt throughout the afternoon. We dug a pit below treeline on a NW aspect and were most concerned with the Leap year MF crust/near surface facet layer with the oncoming storm. No alarming results today but a shallow weak layer to track.
