Wind Slab Avalanche at Frog Lake Cliffs

Toured out to the Frog Lake Cliffs zone with the objective to explore the terrain, get eyes on a new (to us) zone, and maybe ski something cool if we liked what we found. Went out with knowledge of recent wind loading on E facing slopes due to the recent SW winds, and chose our entrance point conservatively (no cornice at our entrance point, slope angle maxed out at 32-34 degrees). A ski cut resulted in no movment, so we regrouped at a safe zone and discussed the next bit of our route down to the lake. We agreed on our next safe zone, and descended one at a time to that spot. Once there, we agreed that continuing our route into a small couloir seemed to be the best way forward, but once I descended about 50 yards below our safe zone it was apparent that continuing on was unsafe (the chute closed out and would have been unreversible beyond that, and we couldn't confirm with 100% certainty that it continued all the way to the lake beyond that point). Deciding that we shouldn't descend anything we couldn't reverse if needed, we retreated back up the slope to our 2nd safe zone. There, we transitioned (skins on) and began touring back toward the ridgeline. While crossing an ENE-facing slope maybe 28-30 degrees in pitch we remote triggered a wind slab maybe 100 yards above us (approximate elevation 8450 feet). Quite thankfully, the wind slab did not propagate down to the storm slab. The crown was between 12 and 24 inches (to our eyes from some distance away) of wind-loaded snow. Our hypothesis is that our ski cut produced no results, but that the interveneing time from our initial descent to the remote trigger offered enough time for solar radiation to further destabilize the snowpack (again, just our hypothesis).
