Significant Wind Scouring around Carson Pass

Decided to take a tour towards Winnemucca Lake from Carson Pass. Fortunately, my expectations were low from the beginning and I had no plans on making any true ski descents. From the start, I could tell that wind from the 11/13 storm had a much greater impact on the area than any snow that may have fallen. From Carson Pass, snowdepths held fairly steady between 8-12 inches until I reached the meadow just north of Winnemucca Lake. Here, snowdepths were lower, ranging from 4-8 inches with some bare spots. The western flank of Elephants Back was bare down to about the 9000 ft topo line. The east-facing ridge between Roundtop and The Sisters held a fair amount of snow down to Winnemucca Lake, about 12-24 inches depending on aspect. It seemed that a lot of the snow in this area was wind-loaded. Several small wind slabs were scattered across the ridge face, and whumphing could occasionally be heard. Snow was mostly hard and supportable, but there was breakable crust on low-angle and west-south-southwest aspects. The southeastern flank of Red Lake Peak was nearly devoid of snow, as well as several other peaks in the area. Round Top Lake was also frozen over.
