WHUMPF there it is

An afternoon of constant whumpfing and shooting cracks at Pickett Peak today. One collapse was even visible to my partner: she said she saw the whole snowpack drop by an inch or two. We were glad to have chosen very low angled terrain.

Pic 2: Even though we remained below treeline, any open slopes showed signs of wind transport. Moderate west winds observed today.

Video: Two ECTs propagated on the Dec 11th facets, which were large and weak in this area. Several hand shears and a shovel tilt indicated that the Dec 25th facets could also be problematic if they had a slab on top of them, which was not the case where we traveled today.
