Avalanche activity, wind transport and warming in Jackson Meadows

Spent the day in th Little Truckee Summit area, mainly in the Grills area. There was about 5" of high density new snow at the trailhead, which got progessilvely deeper as we worked into the mountains, with some areas providing around 14" of new. Multiple avalanches that occured overnight during the storm could be seen on the slopes around us. When we got to the Grills, there was two ski tracks noted on the face, one that had released a slab mid slope on a convex feature. Two tracks had come out of the run, so we did not feel the need to clear the debris. Avalanche appeared the be about a foot deep, 40' wide and ran about 150'. 

The day started cool and calm with sunny skies, but as the day moved on temps rose to above freezing and loose wet avalanches started releasing on anything steep and in the sun, especially around the rocks. We did note a loose wet that then released a decent slab in the shade. We gained a little elevation to stay in cooler temps, and winds were moderate ahead of the approaching storm, with wind tranport present and building windslabs along ridgelines. We did not get our hands in the snow today, but one thing to note is that all the slab activity we did see was mid slope, on northerly aspects in what would be more protected areas.
