Small Loose Wet Avalanches on Donner Peak

Small loose wet avalanches occurred during the late morning hours in the Donner Peak area, mostly natural point releases in steep rocky terrain.  Up to 2 to 4'' + of recent storm snow was on top of a firm and boot supportable melt freeze crust.  This new snow was becoming reactive during the day with rapid warming and full sunshine.  Evidence of previous wind scouring and loading throughout this area with some areas scoured to firm M/F crusts and some areas with deeper wind blown new snow.
