Consolidating snow

Skied Andesite ridge yesterday and today.  Deep unconsolidated snow yesterday with sluff movement in steeper pockets, no propagation and minimal running length. Pocket was 8 ft wide and ran 30 ft on steep terrain. Knee to hip deep turns down slope south of Andesite peak in trees.  Knee deep and more breaking trail.  No whoompf, cracks or settlement.  

Today same ridge North of Peak on open slopes. Boot top at most with turns. If you pushed deeper you would lose speed and need to accelerate to top of snow to bounce in a spongy condensing snow which looked to be from overnight.  Pole penetration was still to the handle with moderate resistance at the yesterday/today snow level. Snow pack right side up. Skinning out of track was ankle to boot deep.  Foot penetration was DEEP and not recommended!  No signs of movement or instability today.
