Round Top stubborn wind slabs, old avalanches, and a nice ice crust facet sandwich!

Performed hand hardness at Winnemucca Lake (elevation 2738M) and located two ice crusts and two layers of facets underneath 125cm of cohesive 4F hardness new snow. Ice crust number one is at 125cms and ice crust two is at 145cms. Under ice crust one is 20cms of 1mm facets. Under ice crust two is 75cm of 1mm sized facets (to the ground). Total snow HT is 220cms. 
 

Observed three avalanches that had likely taken place during the storm event as there was evidence of some wind affected snow filling in around fracture lines and avalanche debris. One avalanche was on the North East shoulder of Round Top, and two were around the same aspect on two chutes of The Sisters. Enjoyable soft snow was located in wind protected areas of deposition.
 

Kicked fairly stubborn small cornice during the tour up and witnessed signs of snowpack settling around trees on the return skin. Observed wind scouring and wind affected snow indicating strong South West wind activity.
