Observation
Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

Variable snow conditions and limited signs of instability.  Winds were strong to gale force in the afternoon predominantly out of the SW but we're responding to topography and somewhat shifty. Gusts were in the 35+ mph range and there was still ample snow available for transport. Boot penetration in sheltered areas was ~25cm. Snow surfaces ranged from very firm wind buff to unconsolidated cold snow in protected areas. Surface hoar was not present throughout the tour with the exception of a very small area at lake level. This surface hoar had already been partially collapsed by wind.
