Wind slabs on Cowboy Hat.

Toured up to the top of Cowboy Hat today. At the bottom at 6700' there was 150cm of total snow. The snow at this elevation was light fluffy and uneffected by the wind. As we gained elevation and got into the Caldor burn area where terrain opened up, winds and gusts increased in intensity affecting the snow all the way to the top. Throughout this area wind slabs were forming in different thicknesses anywhere from a few cms to 30cms. We had multiple ski cut results on smaller safe terrain fetures. As we approached the top there was more signs of loading within the steeper terrain features. Most loading we saw was on N facing aspects but we did have periods of E and N winds lasting for a few mintues at a time. Intense wind and snowfall transportation occured throught out the day until about 1600, skies started to open up and snow tapered off. However the wind was still transporting snow.
