Avalanche on upper east shoulder of Mt. Rose

Zero avalanche signs in the area for over the past week, yet yesterday the winds were howling 80 mph? (traversing flat ridgetop at 10,000', with skins on, had to lean against the wind and have both poles and skis spread out and engaged into the snow to remain upright or get pushed sideways). Once over the ridge onto the leeward slope, the simplest ski check fractured across the slope and traveled downward in large chunks but did not propagate to the lower snow.
