Tamarack Peak snow Observations

We toured up Tamarack Peak and observed wind effect starting at the parking lot. The lower elevations showed a shallow 3-6 cm wind crust over softer snow. As we approached the ridge the slab was 20 to 30 cm and pencil hard. 
 

We dug a 100cm pit on a wind effected NE slope ATL around noon. Skies were FEW, wind was Moderate Gusting Strong from the NW. There was not much blowing snow as most has been hardened by previous winds
 

We got a CT 14 down 24cm SP. this was at the interface between a Pencil hard wind slab resting on 4 finger DF layer. We also got a ECTP25 down 24 cm on the same layer. We rode the slope we tested because it was <30.
