Observation
Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

Riding from Little Truckee Summit parking lot around 10:30 am towards the ridge west of Parazzo meadow, we encountered mostly firm snow with isolated pockets of softer snow. The weather was unseasonably warm and clear with little wind. Snowpit showed a 1cm thick ice layer 5cm below the surface, with rounding facets below that which transitioned to rounded grains from 30cm downward. Compression test resulted in a resistant planar hard fracture at 20cm. Extended column test did not propagate. We saw no signs of recent avalanche activity and were not able to trigger any avalanches on test slopes.
