Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

Toured up Tallac today starting around 9am. Great spring skinning conditions for the first 1250 or so feet. Once on the corkscrew, met some near surface facets that were completely unsupportable. We moved to the gulley right of the corkscrew ridge to see if we could find more supportable snow in the sun, but instead experienced heavy glopping and faceting in the shade. This made for tough uphill travel until we were able to get to the ridge line leading to the northeast bowl. Once there, skinny was easy until we got around the back of Tallac, which required minor boot packing on shale to get to the top.

We descended the northeast bowl to find edgeable but inconsistent conditions, overall a good ski down but the lower bowl was turning to mush. good coverage down low so was able to ski back to the road and walk out.
