New Snow and Wind on Incline Lake Peak

We went to Incline Lake Peak to take a look at the new storm snow and developing wind slabs.  We saw around 1'' of new storm snow at the trailhead with up to 3 to 4'' at higher elevations on the peak.  The sky was starting to break slightly, but we did have some short convective snow showers on our climb up.  W winds were blowing moderate with gusts in the strong range along the upper ridgeline with snow transport onto NW-N-NE aspects.  Newly forming wind slabs were reactive, but small in size and not extending very far downslope.  These wind slabs were mostly in the 3 to 5'' size with some up to 6 to 8'' deep in more wind loaded areas.  Snow surface conditions were a mix of dust on crust and enjoyable new snow on previous soft snow in more wind protected and untracked areas.  The upper snowpack consists of this new storm snow on top of our last storm snow all on top of some near surface facets.  These facets are not as well developed at this location as other areas and did not show signs of propagation with multiple snowpack tests.  The snowpack in this area is in good shape to handle some additional snow load with the approaching storms tonight and Tuesday.
