Significant Wind Effect Near Spooner Summit

I was short on time this afternoon, so I went for a quick tour in the Spooner Summit area on a north/northwest facing slope. Even 500 vertical feet below the peak in well-protected terrain, there were several signs of both wind affected and wind deposited snow (the uploaded photo gives a good representation of what the general area was like). Wind slabs were fairly hard but still punchy, and skinning triggered collapse of a few wind slabs. There was some minor cracking but no propogation. Even in low-angle terrain, I avoided large wind slabs that were present on the lee slope near the top of the ridge/peak.

The ski down yielded soft, but wind affected snow that required some attention to navigate safely. On steeper slopes, these features would be cause for avalanche concern.
