More detailed information about the snowpack:

6" to 8" of new snow overnight on top of 6" of snow that warmed for the past two days. Dug a pit to the ground. 47" of snow to dirt and bushes. Isolated a column 47" x 47" no failure. CHT (10). Could only get the block to fail after getting above it and moving it with my knees. Broke and slide about 5" above the ground on the faceted layer we have seen all season.

Would have been great at 6am, but by 11am it was 27F (thermometer not in direct sun) the solar heat was really happening on the NE slopes. The shade was wonderful deep pow. Should be good for a few days as long as it doesn't get above freezing in the shade.
