Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Skied the S side of Ralston in the late afternoon on Thursday.  Ski cuts along the uptrack revealed some slab activity within the recent storm snow but cracks did not propagate easily.  Shallow wind slabs due to blown-in snow noted near the ridgeline, likely due to recent northerly winds.  A surface crust was forming late day on open shadowed areas in the alpine.  Unconsolidated snow was prevalent under the protection of trees, even on southerly aspects.  Aside from the slab activity noted above, no significant instabilities were noted on the S face.
