We dug a quick pit to see how reactive the wind slab was in this area.  Our test slope was a somewhat wind loaded area half way down the bowl between Basin and Castle Peak.  Snow depth was 355cm.  An extended column test showed that the 18 cm thickness wind slab failed after 14 taps, with a Q2/resistant planar quality.  The fracture did not propagate across the column.  We repeated the test and found similar results (ECTN18 Q2 @337cm).
