Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

The snow surface remained mostly frozen even on the sun exposed lower elevation southerly aspects in this area. On the southerly aspects a 6-10 inch thick, frozen, melt-freeze layer existed. Expect any melting that did occur today to refreeze before the snow starts to fall tonight. On the more northerly aspects the rain crust has continued to disintegrate due to the colder temperatures on these north aspects. In this area the rain crust varied from very thin and breakable up to 2 inches thick and supportable. Below this crust a layer of weak, sugary, near-crust facets exists.
