More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snow coverage exists on the northerly aspects starting at 6800ft in this area. The snow surface consisted of a frozen and supportable rain crust with some areas of small surface hoar on top of it. In some areas it was bare ice. Below this crust a thin layer of weak sugary snow has formed. This layer does not represent an avalanche problem right now; however, it will be a layer to keep an eye on for the future. Below that layer the snowpack consists of a very thick, strong, frozen rain crust with some moist snow still remaining below it.
