More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Similar to other areas, a mix of soft snow and breakable crusts existed on the northerly aspects at all elevations in this area. A layer of weak snow existed underneath the surface snow with a stable snowpack below that. See pit profile above.

On the southerly aspects some melting occurred today below 8000 ft. Up to four inches of wet snow existed on the sun exposed aspects below 8000 ft by 2 pm. Shortly after that time they began to refreeze. Above 8000 ft the snow surface did not thaw today even in sun exposed areas.
