More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Snow cover limitted to the N-NE-E aspects in the area. Above 8500 ft a basal ice layer existed with facets (weak, sugary snow) above it on the shaded N and NE aspects.  In the areas where the ice layer exists it covers many of the anchors and provides a smooth efficient bed surface. On lower elevation northerly aspects 10-15 cm of unconsolidated faects existed on top of the ground. Very little snow exists on other aspects.
